Don’t forget you now must go to the trainer and learn the next stage in the mining profession. You must do this to level up further, you don’t want to waste time mining if you are not skilling up!

Running out of cash?

If you are running out of gold, or wanting to get through mining a lot quicker than you are now using our smelting guide, check out these tricks and tips on making gold, you will not forget it!

Mining Routes

Arathi Highlands – 4 caves which are full of nodes, use them well, miner!

Thousand Needles – Again use the caves.

Stranglethorn Vale – I love STV, but not when I was mining there! It is a hotspot for level 80’s to come and kill enemy players from another faction, you will have to deal with it! Don’t forget though, if you choose to smelt through this using these techniques, you won’t have to endure this hell!

Getting tired yet? You could easily smelt through these stages using this link, but if you choose to go through with mining, I suggest you get yourself over to the article on Mining: 176-230 where you will be mining Mithril and Truesilver.

Once again, it is easier to smelt through these levels using some easy yet unknown techniques – you can use that guide to get all the gold you need to buy the materials from the Auction House, then smelting them using our Smelting guide (See mining section). However, if you wish to facilitate the slower method, here are the routes:

The Barrens – Max Level 25 Mobs – Just follow the route around the map, however, if you can’t cope with level 25 mobs just yet you should just stick to the northern parts.

Wetlands – This route is based around two caves, you can stay in the caves if you want and grind on the mobs, or take the route for a change if you get bored.

What Now? – So now you’re 125. Getting there, right? Well now you want to head over to our 126-175 Iron & Gold article, see you there!

Now, this is a no-brainer for me. Below is a smelting guide which can take you to 1-375 in one day. Smelting takes seconds, and you can smelt your way to 375 skill. That is only 75 skill off max skill. So in one day, you can max out mining using the guide below. Ofcourse, there is a down-side, it can take alot of gold but the good news, there is a way around this.

I personally levelled mining in a day using the secrets in this guide – I recommended it in the past and i’ll recommend it again. It’s effiicient and quick. Take it from me, if you want help in all your professions – It’s the best way to go about it.

Anyway, enough of the nattering, here is the Smelting table:

Introduction

So you have started a new character, you should decide what professions you want to take and learn them right away. In this case, I guess you have chose mining and now you are wondering how to do it. If you have just picked up Mining as a level 80 character, you will have to ofcourse mine through the beginning zones – although you won’t have to worry about higher mobs. I have gathered the ideal mining routes for each race below so you can mine in your starting zone. As with the rest of the zone maps, just follow the route indicated and you will start finding mining nodes. Don’t forget – when you hit the your skill cap for that mining skill, you must return to the mining trainer and learn the next skill.

Although I have included maps and routes for mining, this is one of the most tedious and boring stages of the mining process. However, there is an alternative which I strongly recommend, you can smelt your way to 1-65 (Refer to the smelting table article). You can do this by purchasing the raw materials from the auction house, this is so much faster, but it can use up your gold in no time. I strongly recommend you check out this amazing guide. It will allow you to make the gold you need to get past this stage in no time. Do it!

Horde

Undead – Tirifal Glades – Pick a starting point and just follow the route, you will run into mining nodes! Don’t forget to keep checking the level of the mobs around you, dying will slow you down and you can skip sections if you need to.

Orc/Troll – Durotar – Again, just follow the route starting anywhere, and don’t forget to enter the cave! There can be as many as 3 nodes in there.

Blood Elves – Eversong Woods – A very short route but just as efficient for mining. If you want a break from going in the same route, you can travel up and down the deadscar a couple of times as it is also great for mining – but watch out for the mobs!

Tauren – Mulgore – Mobs shouldn’t be too much of a concern here, but watch out for the Venture Co mine if you are of a lower level.

Alliance

Human – Elwynn Forest - Use the caves, Follow the mountains and you can’t go wrong in Elywnn.

Night Elves – Darkshore – Darkshore is close to Darnassus and is the most ideal mining place for Night Elves. Again, walk down the mountain ides and use the caves.

Dwarves/Gnomes – Dun Morogh – This zone is pretty straight forward, follow the high density mountain side, use the 3 caves and raises in terrain.

Draenei – Azuremyt Isle – This is a high density zone, although there is a section on the left of the route by the side of the lake which isn’t that rich in ore.

Now what?

So now you’re level 65 in mining. Visit the article in the mining section for levels 66-125 where you will be mining Tin and Silver.
